The rear garden of Spey Cottage Click on the thumbnails to enlarge the images The garden looking from the cottage Looking towards the rear of the cottage The climbing frame and chute The beautiful rear garden of Spey Cottage is a tribute to the efforts of the previous owner who stayed here for many years. All the trees and plants are well established and most re-appear year after year. In May and June the Garden is definitely at its finest with the borders a blaze of colourful flowers, including Poppies, Lilies and Iris to name but a few. There are a couple of Rhododendron bushes as well as a lovely Azalea at the top end of the garden and both sides are lined with several different types of trees including, Ash and Cherry. The most unusual tree can be seen on the left of the middle picture above. Up until now no one has managed to tell me what it is. Answers on an E-Mail?Immediately behind the house is a secluded and sheltered patio area complete with table and chairs which is ideal for relaxing when the sun comes out. Also nearby is the built in BBQ. (I always find that burnt sausages are ideal for keeping midges away!). All the utensils are provided, all you need to buy is the charcoal and something to cook on it. Finally, the garden has a sturdy children's climbing frame and chute for the kids to enjoy. |
